So you’d like to know a little more about me and what I do!

Having initially worked in one of Brighton’s foremost rehearsal and recording facilities in the 90’s, learning the analogue signal chain and all the fun and hiss that came with that, I soon realised along with my enthusiasm to learn all things audio, that I  had an aptitude and an appetite for songwriting and producing. I left the mildew and beer stained walls of the rehearsal rooms and set up my own facility. That facility has obviously changed dramatically throughout the years and is now situated in the loft of my house. It’s a great space, compact as it is, and I have even managed to record a 12 piece choir in here, not to mention the privilege of recording Clare Grogan for an indie film I wrote the soundtrack for a while back.

I compose a lot of Library music for a multitude of Production Music library publishers, with over 600 published library and sync tracks worldwide. I work on commissions that come my way, from art films, to sound design, animations, TV and internet advertising campaigns. I have always written songs, from the time I could string a few chords together when I was 18, through to co-writes with other songwriters and onto today where I’ve been writing songs partly for the sync music world and also producing and co-writing with new and upcoming artists. I value the relationships that I’ve formed over the years and the aspect of collaboration is foremost in my working practice today.

As a producer I work with signed and unsigned artists and bands and help them develop and hone their sound in the studio. It’s a potentially difficult and stressful concept to find the right producer to work with, so I always encourage people to strike up a conversation, reach out and engage in a meaningful chat about what you’d like and what you expect from this working relationship. It’s possible I’m not the right person for the job, so don’t be afraid to ask seemingly difficult or awkward question. I won’t be offended if you don’t use me for your project and in fact if I don’t connect with you or your music then I may even suggest you find someone else to produce your songs.
